Bishop Climate Ministries A Place Where The Captives Are Set Free
Dear Child Of God,
Today we have begun the beginning of our journey this month. God spoke to me hold 21 Days of Prayer, 21 Days of Fasting, and 21 Days of Joining Together each night as we discover the Blessings of God that Jacob bestowed on his 12 children.
Tonight was an eye opener, as we discovered the first blessing, which actually wasn’t a blessing at all, but turned to become a curse, upon Jacob’s firstborn Reuben.
The Bible says,
Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the beginning (the firstfruits) of my manly strength and vigor; [your birthright gave you] the preeminence in dignity and the preeminence in power. But unstable and boiling over like water, you shall not excel and have the preeminence [of the firstborn], because you went to your father’s bed; you defiled it—he went to my couch!(Gen 48:3-4)
Though Reuben was Jacob’s firstborn, by right he should have been given the authority over the rest of his brothers, but yet his father cursed him instead, because of what he did.
While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it (Genesis 35:22)
Historians tell us that Reuben was very close to his grandfather Laban. Laban raised him up under his influence; in fact he spoiled him. But he kept him close to control him. In fact, his grandfather Laban used witchcraft to destabilise him. For he knew if he could finish Jacob’s firstborn, then the family had no future.
What happened as a result is that Reuben was always focusing on the wrong things in life. Instead of building his life, instead of leading his brothers, he was chasing after things that had no benefit. He was always desiring things that would cause his downfall. He was a man easily swayed by emotions, a man easily influenced. That is why he could never make progress, he could never establish himself, he could never grow. The tribe of Reuben eventually became so few that is ended up disappearing. That is why Moses cried,
Let Reuben live and not die, nor his men be few (Deut 33:6)
Child of God, when your life is operating under the curse of the few, you are forced to focus on things that are so small and insignificant. Instead of building your life, instead of building your future, you will leave that behind to go and focus on people who don’t care about you. You will chase things that have nothing to do with your life. When this curse of few is operating in your life, everything around you becomes unstable. You are always desiring things that belong to other people. You are always running after things that end up hurting you. You will leave a good home, a good relationship, a good career, a good position, to go after something or somebody that is useless. As a result your life just begins to decrease and decrease until there is nothing left.
But this is why today we must deal with this spirit. Yes to start off 2020, we must cry out just like Moses, that the curse of few shall not operate over our lives. Whatever has been assigned against you to subtract from your life, whatever has been assigned to draw you from your purpose, to distract you from your goal, it must die by fire. Every spirit that wants to blackmail you emotionally, spiritually, physically, sexually, it must die by fire.
Yes every spirit that wants you to leave a good thing behind and chase after worthless and meaningless things, it must die by fire. Every spirit that wants you to focus on insignificant issues so that you miss out on the plans of God for your life, it must be dealt with.
