Bishop Climate Ministries A Place Where The Captives Are Set Free
Dear Child of God,
What if there was a formula to success that required more than just faith? What if prayer & fasting, sowing seed, speaking confessions, were not enough? Could it be possible that to have true success in God, faith is just the beginning?
Child of God, although faith is the foundational and most essential quality that a Christian must possess, it is in fact only the beginning of qualities. But if you can learn how to successfully build the others onto your faith, then I can guarantee you will live an effective and productive life, enjoying all of God’s promises for as long as you live.
At the Beginning of the Year, I began a teaching entitled “Making One’s Calling & Election Sure – 8 Keys You Must Possess to Guarantee Your Success”.
And the Lord spoke to me to share this powerful teaching with you so that many others could be blessed as well.You see, last year you took a journey. It required a lot of praying, a lot of fasting, a lot of seed-sowing. But yet in spite of all that, there were some things that you had to carry over into the new Year as you waited for a physical manifestation. There were some things that required a stretch of your faith, yet you are still waiting on a breakthrough.But today, by the grace of God, your eyes are going to be opened as you discover the truth. Things like fasting, praying, sowing seed, giving offering, using anointed items, etc. those are all what you call Faith-Extenders.
But in all truth, in order to truly walk every day in breakthrough, faith is not enough. Yes, faith is important, but it is only the first requirement. There are people who are always praying, fasting, sowing seed, but yet their character is out of order. Maybe they have anger issues, maybe they don’t know how to say no. But yet you find there are things lacking in their lives which can hinder them from moving forward.
You see, faith can give you a breakthrough, but you need something else to maintain it. Faith can heal you, but it will take something else for you stay healed. Faith can even cancel your debt, but it will take something else to keep you debt-free.
2 Peter 1:3-7 says
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Peter explains 7 qualities we must add to our faith:
1) Virtue
2) Knowledge
3) Temperance (Self-Control)
4) Patience
5) Godliness
6) Brotherly Kindness
7) Charity (Love)
Child of God, if you possess these qualities, they will keep you from being ineffective. To be ineffective means to fail to produce or accomplish purpose. If you have been living an unproductive life, ineffective in your career, ineffective in your marriage, ineffective in your health, ineffective in your finances, then you need to figure out which qualities you might be missing.
Faith is not enough! So stop wasting your time praying & fasting, expecting God to move, NO you must do something else!
What is the first quality you must add to Faith?
1) Virtue
Virtue is moral excellence, having a positive character. When you have virtue, child of God, you know how to behave yourself. Maybe there are some habits you have that you need to get rid of. It’s a new year, so start it in the new way.
Virtue provides the right atmosphere to receive answered prayer. You are going to have to know how to excel in your situation. Be clean, dress nice. Keep yourself together. Remember what Joseph did before he was summoned by Pharoah? Gen 41 says he shaved himself and changed his raiment to appear more like an Egyptian, and when he was ready, he went before Pharoah. Maybe there are some parts of your character that need to change. Child of God don’t change yourself to please people, but do change yourself to line up with where you are headed.
Now after adding virtue to faith, what do you add to virtue?
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. (2 Peter 1:5-7)
2) Knowledge (Intelligence)
Pro 17:27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
Do not be so quick to share your information with everyone. If you willingly surrender to your enemies, then there is nothing God can do. Learn to study people, don’t be so free to share your information with others. There are some things you have to just keep to yourself, no matter how close you feel to the person.
There are 3 types of knowledge that can be applied in your life on a daily basis:
1) Communication knowledge
This is knowing which type of language to speak depending on which environment you are in. You cannot speak to your boss the same way you would speak to your husband. You can not speak to your wife the same way you speak to your friends. You are going to have to know how to adapt to your environment, to have communication knowledge appropriate to your situation.
2) Situated knowledge
You are going to have to do your research. What is it that you are believing God for? Get the knowledge on that specific area. Like the two spies that went to spy out Jericho, they were gathering intelligence. Any country becomes vulnerable without it’s intelligence. You have to assess your situation. Prayer is not enough if you are lacking information.
3) Partial Knowledge
Learn to study people. Gather what information you can collect. There may be some insider information that gets released to you and you don’t understand it but hold on to it. It may not be important today, but it will be important tomorrow.
What comes after Knowledge?
Remember faith is not enough. Faith extenders like prayer, fasting, seed sowing, are not enough to live a productive and effective life. You are going to have to add some other qualities to your faith.
