I have witnessed this so many times people have been close to their breakthrough but this spirit sneaks in with influence and destroys any chance of victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 1 Chronicles 21:1-17\u00a0NIV:<\/span> ”\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span>Satan\u00a0rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census\u00a0of Israel.\u00a0So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops, \u201cGo and count\u00a0the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.\u201d\u00a0But Joab replied, \u201cMay the\u00a0Lord\u00a0multiply his troops a hundred times over.\u00a0My lord the king, are they not all my lord\u2019s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?\u201d\u00a0The king\u2019s word, however, overruled Joab; so Joab left and went throughout Israel and then came back to Jerusalem.\u00a0Joab reported the number of the fighting men to David: In all Israel\u00a0there were one million one hundred thousand men who could handle a sword, including four hundred and seventy thousand in Judah.\u00a0But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering, because the king\u2019s command was repulsive to him.\u00a0This command was also evil in the sight of God; so he punished Israel.\u00a0Then David said to God, \u201cI have sinned greatly by doing this. Now, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.\u201d\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to Gad,\u00a0David\u2019s seer,\u00a0\u201cGo and tell David, \u2018This is what the\u00a0Lord\u00a0says: I am giving you three options. Choose one of them for me to carry out against you.\u2019\u201d\u00a0So Gad went to David and said to him, \u201cThis is what the\u00a0Lord\u00a0says: \u2018Take your choice:\u00a0three years of famine,\u00a0three months of being swept away\u00a0before your enemies, with their swords overtaking you, or three days of the sword\u00a0of the\u00a0Lord\u2014days of plague in the land, with the angel of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0ravaging every part of Israel.\u2019 Now then, decide how I should answer the one who sent me.\u201d\u00a0David said to Gad, \u201cI am in deep distress. Let me fall into the hands of the\u00a0Lord, for his mercy\u00a0is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands.\u201d\u00a0So the\u00a0Lord\u00a0sent a plague on Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell dead.\u00a0And God sent an angel\u00a0to destroy Jerusalem……David said to God, \u201cWas it not I who ordered the fighting men to be counted? I, the shepherd,\u00a0have sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep.\u00a0What have they done?\u00a0Lord\u00a0my God, let your hand fall on me and my family,\u00a0but do not let this plague remain on your people.<\/span>”\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Today I want you to overcome this spirit! Today I don’t want you to be alarmed or afraid as today I am going to give you the remedy that you need! The story of David he did something strange and out of the ordinary. This was a decision he made that cost him the throne. This was a decision that cost Isreal greatly! You cannot afford to make decisions that turn into bad choices. Today I believe that we need to break the spirit of resistance over your life.
